Pop & Play is a free, all-ages, fair-style celebration filled with music, art, poetry, and games inspired by our signature community programs. Explore five interactive stations, each with its own creative twist, and collect stars along the way for a chance to win prizes from local artists and community partners.
What to Expect:
The House of Pride: in honor of our Queer Narratives Festival, test your KC queer history knowledge or visit the Queer Fortune Teller for a future full of pride.
The Spark Lab:
Live poetry, get a custom piece on the spot.
Cartoon Portrait Artist.
Join the Haiku Challenge to create your own.
Draw, doodle, and play art games with our community artists.
The Loop Room: Come as you are and move to the rhythm in our DJ & movement room and show off your hula hoop skills.
The Toast Room: did you miss the gala? come toss some “champagne” (grape juice!) and strike a pose at our photo booth!
Collect stars and stamps at each station to unlock special carnival prizes, from stickers and candy to hats, artist prints and chapbooks!
